Cold weather months lead to a lot of close family togetherness and this is a good thing. That is until about the third major snowstorm where the whole family has been stuck inside for days, and then things start to look just a little bit less rosy. A great solution for a little family separation is to send your hubby out to play in a garage that is equipped with a warming propane wall furnace.

There are other heating choices available online like those tiny porcelain heaters that are okay if one is standing right next to them. How about those small electric heaters? Great until you take a look and see how fast the electric meter is spinning round. Kerosene heaters throw off more heat and now most come with an electric starter, it just all depends on one’s ability to tolerate the smell of burning kerosene.

That is why a propane wall mounted furnace is such a great choice for workshop or garage. No odor, no need to line the electric company’s pockets with gold and these wall heaters put the owner in charge of controlling temperature levels. There are numerous choices online at really great prices, some at about $350.

These heaters come in both vented and ventless varieties, obviously if one is considering ventless, it is necessary to have proper air circulation with the building. A vented furnace only requires that a hole be cut in a garage wall, and a small vent will take the air from the unit, directly to the great outdoors. Either option is safe and can keep the work area decently warm for a couple of quarters a day.

Common sense should dictate that a propane wall furnace should be used with care, especially in a workshop area. For example, woodworkers should know that anything with flames needs to be completely off when the wood saw is on and kicking up sawdust. Small people and furry pets should also be restricted from a workshop area for more reasons than just the heater alone.

Looking for a great bargain when it comes to a propane wall furnace? There is some great shopping online for all types of space heaters and a propane heater feature clean and efficient heating with no nasty fumes. The Kozy World manufacturers offer a great choice in heater that can use either propane or natural gas.

For smaller, more compact spaces, Kozy Word’s model GWD208 features 20,000-BTU’s in a ventless wall mounted heater. It has electronic ignition, so there is never any need for batteries or matches, just a simple button push and heat is on its way. There are five different heating level choices, all easy to reach as they are on the top of the unit.

This propane wall furnace works on convective heating to efficiently warm up the room air and a cost of a few cents per hour. A sensitive thermostat built into the unit signals when the air has reached the desired temperature and shuts the burner off. If it gets a little nippy again, the thermostat orders the burner to come back on and voila, warm and toasty again.

Because it does not require electricity, this little hot tamale can be a real blessing in the event of a power outage. It should never be considered as the only source of heat for a home, but when the grid system fails, it sure will help to keep things comfy. If the additional blower attachment is purchased, it does require power to activate the blower.

Finally, safety is a strong point with the Kozy World brand of propane wall furnace and there a number of features for the family’s protection. The company includes what is called a “safe watch” assembly surrounding the pilot light and it will automatically cut off the gas if the pilot light goes out. There is even an oxygen sensor that shuts off the light if the room’s O2 levels drop below accepted standards.

A propane wall furnace is a great solution for drafty rooms, garages or workshops. The convenience of having a wall-mounted unit is perfect in a work area since there is no danger of tripping over it or knocking it over. Propane gas burns cleanly and it is a relatively inexpensive way to warm up small, cold areas.

Pro-Com has a model called the Dual Fuel Blue Flame Wall heater. It kicks out 20 thousand BTU’s and what is really special is that it can run either on propane or on natural gas if a source is already available in the home. This model is capable of nearly 100% heating efficiency.

The Pro Com heater boasts the ability to warm up to 700 square feet and does not require electricity. It features an electronic ignition system operated with the simple push of a button. No need to worry about lighters or matches or the potential dangers involved when manually lighting pilot lights. This heater is built in O.D.S. for safety and is also Omni approved.

The concept behind the blue flame gas heaters is to heat the room air first and then circulate the warm air throughout the room. The heater is available from several sources online and is far less expensive than other 20 thousand BTU furnaces. This particular model can be found for under $200. For those who are interested in even better warm air circulation, there is an optional blower that can be purchased for around $20 and there is also a base that is an optional accessory.

A propane wall furnace is an efficient way to heat up a smaller area safely. With no heater sitting on the floor, kids and pets can play freely with an adult having to keep an every watchful eye. No fears of spilled kerosene and no fumes either.

A propane wall furnace is not always the most attractive addition to a home. In the past, they all were very industrial looking with metal that rusted and grills that looked like they had not seen a design update since the 1940’s. Today’s popular wall heaters have been updated and safety features improved enormously for a busy family home.

The Williams Company offers a line of sturdy and reliable wall heaters. Their model 1403622 is a direct vent heater that can use either liquid propane or natural gas. Its 14,000 BTU capacity is rated as having 75% efficiency. It is a particularly good choice for garages or woodworking areas because the combustion chamber is fully sealed.

As many areas of the country have experienced huge snowfalls and subsequent power outages this winter, a propane furnace can mean the difference between shivering or being toasty, at least in one room. This model is vented directly outdoor so there is no need to worry about air circulation requirements. Its matchless electric ignition button eliminates any need to fool with matches or lighters.

It is critical for potential purchasers to know that the metal surfaces of wall furnaces get hot, really hot. The exposed outer surfaces can easily be 200 degrees Fahrenheit, which can cause immediate serious burns. If there are kiddos in the home, the best bet is to mount the heater as high as possible and add some sort of physical barrier to prevent curious little hands from reaching.

The Williams 1403622 is a rugged propane wall furnace that will stand up to demanding conditions like garages or sheds. It does need to be fully and properly vented but can accommodate a wall a full two feet thick. The thermostat can either be placed on the heater’s cabinet or on the wall next to it. The Williams line is well worth consideration when shopping online for gas wall heaters.

It is slim, sleek and more attractive than anything else in the room. Is this the description of a celebrity or model perhaps? No, this is actually referring to one of the newest of a brand of propane wall furnace. Housewarmer is the brand and their Slim-Profile unit is well worth a look from one of the many retailers online.

This direct vent heater is great for smaller rooms as its slim width makes it almost appear to blend into with the walls. It is appropriate for installation on any outside wall from 4.5 to 12 inches thick. With the tough winter that many have experienced this year, this furnace is ideal since it will continue to run even when the power goes out.

Ease of installation is another feather in this warm and cozy heater’s cap. Users who have purchased the Housewarmer brand have said that mounting this furnace took an hour or less. Housewarmer also offers one of the most generous warranties in the business, 10 years on the heat exchanger and one year on the rest of the component parts.

An actual buyer said that ousewarmer also the directions that come in the heater box were very easy to follow and expressed gratitude for the unique mounting template that was included.

Simply tape the template to the wall and drill the holes in the appropriate place before wrestling around with the heater unit itself. The template takes all of the measuring and guesswork out of the installation process.

A few reviewers expressed less than glowing remarks regarding the Housewarmer propane wall furnace’s ability to completely warm the areas it was purchased for. Yet others raved about its ability to heat small home offices to toasty temps. One other small item that was mentioned was a little unusual. Evidently, while the heating unit itself runs soundlessly, the tiny pilot light actually makes more noise.
